Our decentralized model reduces collection costs by 80%. Machinery is low cost, made from as much recycled materials as possible. Collectors operate their own micro-business, buying the machinery from ARPP, paying for machinery in collected materials.

The main goal of this startup is to raise awarness of protecting the environment among indigenous community. It will target on young indigenous students from a remote population located in Costa Rica without access and opportunity.

Climate Problem

There is necessity creating awarness to protect the environment. Therefore, this project main goal is to create a seed bank of trees that is unique in the community that can be planted in areas lacking of trees.

Solution

Trees are important resources for the community and it has multiple purpose such as for construction, and environmental protection and creating a space for wildlife. The project will create its own trees seed bank as a research center for the community.

Deforestation of cloud forests in Costa Rica due to a lack of economic value. Without incentives, landowners destroy the forest. Siloe Garden demonstrates that conserving 1 hectare generates more income than clearing the forest.

Elevator Pitch

We create hair care products (shampoo and tonic) made from the sap of the "Croton Draco" tree (without harming the tree), using a collaborative and regenerative agriculture model, and reviving traditional medicine.

Climate Problem

We address the issue that environmental conservation costs money and that it is necessary to generate passive income from the forest to help communities earn a living while protecting the forests. Additionally, we aim to promote traditional medicine.

Solution

This harvesting method is environmentally friendly, as it does not damage the tree like traditional methods do. We use leaf pruning, and this method is compatible with environmental service payment programs.

Revenue Model

We extract the latex from the tree and use it to make shampoo and hair tonic, which are sold in some macrobiotic stores in Costa Rica. We have been in business for two years and currently have 15 retail locations.

People interested in natural hair care who enjoy using natural products.

From waste to play This project investigates how recycled plastic bottles can be transformed into early-stimulation toys designed to support children’s development, particularly within vulnerable communities.

Climate Problem

The project addresses two areas: environmentally, high levels of plastic (PET) pollution; socially, vulnerability in communities near landfills, as well as play and early childhood development.

Solution

In order to mitigate the effects of pollution, the project aims to repurpose waste, turning it into a primary development tool for children aged 3 to 12 in vulnerable communities, enabling children to foster their cognitive, and emotional development.

Revenue Model

We will establish various communities to collect materials. We hope to attract the attention of various foundations and NGOs that share our vision and wish to join the initiative. In addition, we aim to develop a bigger business model.
