Elevator Pitch

BICSY is a Deep Tech platform that accelerates industrial decarbonization through large-scale biological CO2 capture and the phytoremediation of degraded soils.

Climate Problem

We address CO2 accumulation and degraded industrial soils. We capture 15 tons of CO2 per hectare in 120 days through phytoremediation. This is vital for industrial Net Zero, offering rapid and verifiable removals in contrast to the slowness of traditional solutions.

Solution

accelerated biogenic carbon capture platform. We use hemp and kenaf to remove CO2 and remediate industrial soils in 120-day cycles. We validate the impact using IoT sensors and drones, ensuring auditable climate assets.

Revenue Model

We generate revenue through the sale of high-integrity carbon credits (digital MRV), soil phytoremediation services for industries, and the sale of technical biomass (hemp/kenaf fibers) to the textile and construction sectors.

Demand Evidence

We confirm the demand driven by the global shortage of natural fibers (a shortfall of 5 million tons per year) and the 15% growth in biomaterials. Textile and construction companies are seeking to replace petroleum-based products to reduce their Scope 3 emissions.

Competitors

We compete with traditional (slow) reforestation and chemical remediation (expensive). In Santander, medical hemp is common, but BICSY is unique in industrial remediation using MRV. We outperform the competition thanks to our speed (120 days) and auditable data.

I bring expertise in biobusiness strategy and leadership to Green Peak. We also offer technical validation from partner universities and support from Ecopetrol’s acceleration program. We are experts in phytoremediation and digital MRV for certifying climate assets.

We have completed the laboratory phase at the University of Santander (UDES). We were selected by the Accelerate Climatech program, Econova, and Ecopetrol’s decarbonization laboratory.
