Elevator Pitch
A waste brokerage platform connecting small and medium-sized enterprises, businesses, and entrepreneurs to exchange, donate, sell, or receive non-standard waste materials such as textiles, cardboard, leather, etc.
Climate Problem
We address the inefficient management of waste in urban manufacturing clusters. This waste often ends up in landfills, emitting greenhouse gases. It is vital to optimize these resources to decarbonize the industry and reduce resource extraction
Solution
SimbRed is an industrial symbiosis network that connects manufacturers to exchange byproducts. We facilitate logistics and traceability so that one company’s waste becomes another’s raw material, closing production cycles at the local level.
Revenue Model
Revenue will come from commissions on material transactions, premium subscriptions for access to traceability/impact reports, and technical consulting services on resource efficiency for small and medium-sized manufacturing companies
Target Market
Micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the manufacturing sector (textiles, wood, metalworking, and plastics) located in urban industrial clusters. We focus on businesses seeking to reduce operating costs and improve their sustainability profile
Social Impact
Persons Belonging to National or Ethnic - Religious and Linguistic Minorities, People Living in Extreme Poverty, Women
Demand Evidence
We identified costs lost due to waste and a lack of access to affordable inputs among local SMEs. Assessments of industrial clusters confirm that business owners are interested in monetizing their surplus materials and reducing expenses through bartering.
Competitors
We compete with traditional waste management companies and the informal market, which lack traceability. In Lima, there are leaders in the organic waste sector (such as Sinba), but there are no industrial symbiosis solutions focused on urban manufacturing materials
Founder Expertise
An environmental engineer with experience in managing innovation projects and academic coordination. My technical background is complemented by in-depth, hands-on knowledge of the operational dynamics of local manufacturing workshops.
External Support
We have academic and technical expertise, as well as experience in managing environmental engineering projects. We have identified critical industrial clusters.
