Elevator Pitch

MIELARES is a climate-positive beekeeping project in Colombia supporting 41 rural families. It generates sustainable income, protects biodiversity, and has been recognized in Climathon as an innovative climate solution, now scaling internationally.

Climate Problem

Rural communities in Colombia face climate vulnerability, biodiversity loss, and income instability linked to unsustainable practices. This reduces ecosystem resilience and increases pressure on natural resources.

Solution

MIELARES implements sustainable beekeeping systems that generate income while protecting pollinators and ecosystems. It strengthens community resilience and creates a scalable, nature-based solution to climate and social challenges.

Revenue Model

We generate revenue through the sale of premium honey and bee products in local markets. We are currently preparing for international expansion through existing partnerships, focusing on sustainability and fair trade value chains.

Target Market

Our target market includes conscious consumers, organic stores, and fair-trade buyers in Colombia and international markets. We focus on clients seeking sustainable, traceable, and high-quality natural products.

Social Impact

People of African Descent, Persons Belonging to National or Ethnic - Religious and Linguistic Minorities, Refugees - Asylum-seekers and Internally Displaced People, People Living in Extreme Poverty, Women

Demand Evidence

We have validated demand through consistent local sales and interest from international partners. The global trend toward sustainable, traceable products confirms strong market potential for our solution.

Competitors

Our competitors include local honey producers and large commercial brands. However, few focus on traceability, sustainability, and social impact. MIELARES stands out as a climate-positive, community-based model.
