Elevator Pitch

YakuSmart uses AI to optimize irrigation in agriculture. By integrating soil, weather, and satellite data, we help farms reduce water waste and improve yields, tackling water scarcity in climate-vulnerable regions.

Climate Problem

Climate change is driving water scarcity and unpredictable rainfall, making irrigation inefficient and unreliable. Agriculture uses ~70% of freshwater, and poor irrigation worsens water depletion, threatening food production and farmer resilience.

Solution

YakuSmart delivers AI-powered irrigation decisions through a WhatsApp assistant. By combining agronomic knowledge with real-time data from soil sensors, weather, and satellites, we guide farmers on when and how much to irrigate, improving efficiency.

Revenue Model

We generate revenue through a SaaS model, charging farms per hectare per year. This includes access to our AI irrigation recommendations, WhatsApp assistant, and sensor deployment, enabling scalable and recurring revenue as farms expand usage.

Target Market

Our target market is mid and large agro-export farms growing high-value crops (e.g. grapes, avocados, blueberries). We start in Latin America (Peru, Chile) and expand globally to regions facing water scarcity and intensive irrigated agriculture.

Indigenous Peoples

Demand Evidence

We have 9 paying pilot projects with agro-export farms covering over 100 hectares. Farmers actively use our recommendations, achieving up to 20% water savings, validating strong demand and clear value.

Competitors

Competitors include SupPlant, Instacrops, and Agurotech. Unlike them, we deliver more representative, soil-calibrated data and actionable irrigation decisions through a WhatsApp AI assistant embedded in farmers’ daily workflows

Founder Expertise

Our team combines AI, IoT, and commercial expertise. The founder is an AI researcher at Oxford with experience building and deploying ML systems; the team includes in-house hardware development and deep experience working with agro-export farms.

External Support

We are part of LIFT (Lucha Impact Founder Training), receiving mentorship and business support. We also raised $30K from an angel investor to develop and validate our solution through early pilots.
