Evolutio is a circular economy start-up which aims to transform organic waste into high-quality insect protein for feed. We offer an efficient waste management solution, where the Black Soldier Fly -BSF (Hermetia illucens) transforms organic waste into biomass in approximately 20 days. This biomass has a high nutritional value, with up to 40% protein content and several macro-nutrients. Climate Problem

As environmental consciousness has increased over the last decades, industries have been pushed to re-engineer all sorts of products to meet this need. Animal and vegetable protein (e.g. beef, soy, fish meal) for food and feed are essential goods related to high GHG emissions, deforestation, and over-exploitation of resources. Thus, we offer an alternative protein source whose production process emits far less GHG that could help replacing non-sustainable protein sources for livestock and pet feed. In particular, we are targeting the pet market, a niche where customers are more conscious about sustainability and are willing to pay for alternative protein products. Similarly, farmers are also looking for sustainable alternatives to fertilize their crops and yield healthier food and feed. Nevertheless, they have the added challenge of dealing with geopolitical conflicts, like the war in Ukraine, that impacted the global food system and has led to a sudden and harsh increase in fertilizer
